Not a crazy enterprise, only a solid ambition for Lorraine region and the French aerostation: to make, in the heart of Europe, the greatest international hot air balloon gathering in the world. It’s not a competition with Albuquerque, our big brother. The main idea was to become the only one event at the crossroads of international aerostation. It was? Remember, the first gathering was created to celebrate the bicentenary of the French Revolution (1989), a great opportunity to talk about Fraternity among people.“Old burners” keep in mind the fiesta field a no man’s land which turned into “Metz-Nancy-Lorraine airport in 1991, just after our 2nd event. Since 1993, we are settled on Chambley Airbase. Twenty years and eleven celebrations after, the “baby” grew into a “great and strapping young man”. It was a hard battle to succeed. But as from now on, let’s look forward and be part of the history from Friday July 24th to Sunday August 2nd 2009. The more people we are, the better fiesta will be. We promise you an outstanding edition. |
